First trip to Japan: what to decide before booking

Start with pace, not attractions

For a first trip to Japan, the most important decision is not how many places you can fit in. It is how many hotel moves, long train days, and early mornings your group can comfortably handle.

Choose a simple route

Tokyo plus Hakone works well for a shorter stay. Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka work well for a 10-day first trip. Add regional stops only when you have enough nights to slow down.

Confirm the basics early

Check entry requirements, airport transfers, hotel neighborhoods, eSIM setup, payment backup, and luggage forwarding before building a detailed day-by-day plan.
